Five years after the launch of Canada’s Quality of Life Framework, the DEEP R2I 2026 Conference – Governing for Wellbeing: Five Years of Canada’s Quality of Life Agenda examined the Framework’s impact on public policy and decision-making.

Held on May 12, the event brought together leaders from government, academia, and civil society to explore lessons learned, ongoing challenges, and the role of wellbeing as a measure of societal progress.

Val Morrison, Scientific Advisor at the Centre, took part in the panel Interdisciplinary Alignment on Wellbeing Policy, alongside Danya Pastuszek, Gaynor Watson-Creed, and Nora Spinks. The panel addressed both the opportunity and the challenge of taking a truly interdisciplinary approach to wellbeing, at the intersection of economics, psychology, sociology, public health, and public policy.
