Municipalities hold numerous levers that can shape the health and wellbeing of the population, which makes them key partners for public health organizations. But how can we better understand municipal dynamics and processes in order to intervene at the right moment, with the right people, and with greater impact?

The NCCHPP offers a collection of fact sheets on municipal governance designed to support public health organizations in their collaborative efforts with municipalities.

These fact sheets are intended for public health staff who are new to the municipal environment or who wish to deepen their understanding. They provide guidance to better understand municipal decision making processes, identify the appropriate contacts, pinpoint opportune moments for action, and adapt approaches to the diversity of municipal contexts.
