The NCCHPP offered a symposium entitled, What Can Public Health Organizations Do to Improve Their Capacities to Act on Healthy Public Policies? on April 25, 2024 at the Public Health 2024 Conference in Halifax.
Presenters gave an overview of strategies available to public health organizations to enhance their capacity to play a bigger role in the promotion, adoption, and implementation of healthy public policies. Based on the NCCHPP’s analysis of the scientific literature, the experiences of Vancouver Coastal Health and Nova Scotia Public Health, presenters described a variety of initiatives established by public health organizations.
