The Centre presented a 3-hour session introducing public health ethics with the incoming Master’s of Public Health program class at the University of Waterloo’s School of Public Health and Health Systems.
The overall objectives were:
- To offer a brief overview of public health ethics: orientation, approaches and tools.
- To engage in a bit of ethical deliberation, and
- To point students towards additional resources.
The session included an hour of deliberative work on two cases (vaccination and food security) using two ethics frameworks for public health.
