We are pleased to announce the appointment of Marianne Jacques as Acting Scientific Lead for the National Collaborating Centre for Healthy Public Policy (NCCHPP).

A graduate in political science with a specialization in public administration from the Université de Montréal, Marianne has over 15 years experience at the NCCHPP, first as a scientific advisor, then as coordinator. Her skills and acute knowledge of the Centre will ensure stability and a smooth transition for the NCCHPP until a permanent scientific Lead is appointed.

Over the years, Marianne successfully managed many key projects at the NCCHPP, including coordinating the Secretariat for the Global Network for Health in All Policies, and developing online courses on health impact assessment and public health ethics. In addition, she piloted two National Collaborating Centres for Public Health program evaluations, and two successful funding application cycles for the NCCHPP.

Marianne will take over from Olivier Bellefleur, recently named Scientific Team Lead of the Psychoactive Products and Substances Unit at the Institut national de santé publique du Québec.

We thank Olivier for his 13 years at the NCCHPP. His mobilizing leadership allowed the Centre to shine and to carve a strategic place on the public health scene in Canada. We wish him much success in his new role.
