As part of its work on strengthening capacity related to healthy public policy in public health, the NCCHPP collaborates with the Direction régionale de santé publique (DRSP) of Montréal, particularly with its Politiques publiques et partenariats stratégiques (public policy and strategic partnerships) team.

This team developed a reference framework designed to support public health policy influence. Intended for practitioners, this tool proposes a structured approach to planning and implementing policy-influencing strategies. It aims to support teams working within public health organizations in their reflection and decision making by helping them to:

  1. Define a public health issue and situate it within its political context;
  2. Assess opportunities for action and select the most appropriate policy-influencing strategies;
  3. Identify target audiences and determine appropriate communication formats.

The NCCHPP contributed to making this framework accessible to a broader audience by translating it into English, thereby supporting its dissemination and uptake across diverse practice contexts in Canada.
