Health in All Policies is a policy instrument that articulates a comprehensive vision of health and supports coordinated intersectoral action to improve the social determinants of health. Federal, provincial and territorial governments could adopt a HiAP policy framework to ensure that health is more systematically considered in all public policies under their jurisdictions, beyond health care. This article aims to provide public health actors with a better understanding of HiAP and to clarify what can be expected from a HiAP approach in the Canadian policy context.
